Kelsey's Soccer

Kelsey had a great group of girls and super coaches on her soccer team this season.  She had a ball, and enjoyed every game.  She also improved as a player a lot during this season.  Here she is on defense, where she played most frequently.
It became quite the thing for the girls to cool off by pouring water on their heads.  It gave them a very distinctive look, haha.
Kelsey on the sidelines, where she could often be found doing cartwheels with her friends :).
And my personal favorite....
Such a cutie!
What a great season.  This team ended up being undefeated all season and the league champions.  But so much more than that, it was a season of good sportsmanship, camaraderie, and learning.  So thankful that she had this opportunity!!!

Crafty Caitlyn

Caitlyn has always been crafty and is better at sewing, knitting, and crocheting than I am.
(Well, to be honest, I can't do any of those things and she can do them all, but that didn't sounds as good! ;)
Lately she has gotten into transforming shirts.
She has made Keegan a top and herself a skirt out of Bill's old shirts and decorated this t-shirt that we picked up at the dollar store.  She made the trim and attached it and everything.
I was quite impressed!
It looks much cuter in person than it does in the picture :).
Go, Caitlyn!

Me (JOKING, which they knew :) :  We have too much food in the refrigerator.  You girls need to eat more.

Caitlyn: Well, we just had breakfast.  We're full.

Me:  Well, ordinarily I would be glad you were using good judgement that way, but right now the refrigerator is too full, so you need to eat a lot whether you are hungry or not.

Keegan:  Well, do you have any bacon?

Hahaha, bacon is worth eating even if you're full, I guess!

Keegan's Recital!

Keegan was in a recital recently with a very nice group of girls.  She was a thunderstorm and a squirrel.

A storm doesn't sound pretty, but I sure thought this outfit was!  Keegan looked so pretty and grown-up.
Megan, Delaney and Keegan backstage
Caitlyn was in the unusual (for her) position of being an audience member.
Keegan was the smallest member of the thunderstorm dance, so that was a nice compliment to her to be icluded in it.

The squirells were all so cute!
Keegan and Harlie
 I loved their tails, haha.
She really enjoyed herself and had a lot of fun!

Barn dance!

A 50's themed barn dance!
Friends of ours threw an awesome 50's themed barn dance.  It was SO MUCH FUN!
Caitlyn, Kelsey, and I made 2 poodle skirts.  You should all be very impressed as I am not a seamstress.  Caitlyn basically made hers herself :).
I thought all 3 outfits turned out really cute.
 All the girls looked great!
Caitlyn, Allison, and Lydia - I loved Allison's glasses!
Mr. Willis and Kelsey - I loved his outfit, too!
Keegan, Bill, and Caitlyn in this shot - yes, even Bill danced!
 Spin, Caitlyn :)
Caitlyn and Josiah doing the Swing.
The weather was beautiful!
We stayed outside for a while, thern moved in as the evening cooled.
Taking a snack break
Kelsey doesn't like this picture because she is eating a bite of brownie.  But I like it and I am the blogger, so I am including it, haha.

Kelsey and Macy go for a spin.
 Keegan and Evan
Inside the barn - it looked great!  They had decorated with tons of Christmas lights.
The girls were just hanging out on the stage, doing splits.  Ouch.
A rousing game of musical chairs :D
Caitlyn and Allison both made it!
 Limbo, Keegan!
The final dance of the evening-
this picture has all 3 girls, so seems like a good final picture.
This was such a fun evening!  Some of our favorite folks were there and everyone was super nice.  We had a ball and so appreciated being included!

Showtime @ home

Keegan and Kelsey put on a show of "Short, Silly Stories."
It had a very large cast of stuffed animals :).
They worked a long time practicing and arranging everything and really put on a cute show!
 The cat joined in, too.
Kelsey, in one of the skits.
We always have a fun time :0).

Field Day, part 2

Field Day, Part 2........

The orange team, running in a circle.  They did this botth facing inwards and outwards.
Keegan is ready to run the next leg of the relay!
Ballet dancers have an advantage when it comes to the hopping race.
Pass it over..., and under..., and over..., and under...
In front of this leg, behind that leg
The awesome older sisters, Karly and Caitlyn
High five!
Kelsey was speedy hopping!
I still love this spin-around-then-run-back race!!!!
Crab walk
 Tug-of-war
And the grand finale - the giant water balloon fight (which concluded right as the thunderstorm started!)

"Yes"
"Well, I just closed my eyes and light came in and made a strawberry shortcake!"

I've got it together. Sometimes.

Thursday morning, I remembered (an accomplishment for me) that the girls had a birthday party. Everyone was showered, dressed, and had dry, fixed hair (another accomplishment!)  We were out the door with 2 wrapped presents, a bag of clothes to give away, AND I remembered to take the dry cleaning.  We left home on schedule and arrived at the house at exactly 10:59 for the 11:00 party, the first car there.

Wait a minute - the only car there.  No one was home.  A good thing it turns out.  We were a week early. *sigh*  At least the presents are wrapped for this week!

Field Day! Part 1

I LOVE FIELD DAY!

I love it at least as much as the girls do.  This year Caitlyn was too old to participate :'(, but I loved everything else about it!

Kelsey was on the orange team
 Keegan was on yellow.

Team enthusiasm

We had face and body paint...,

hair bows...,

and, of course, clothes.

The gym was full
Team cheers were ready....

And the games began!
The orange team completes their pyramid.  Woo, hoo!  The first few years we participated, Kelsey was the samllest on her team.  She did NOT like being the top of the pyramid.  I think it looks fun :)!

Scooting along the floor, staying together -oops grey team :).
Keegan is in the center of the yellow.

Love the facial expressions in this one!  The "make-a-train-and-run-across-the-gym" race.
Woo, hoo, the yellow team was successful!!

The enthusiastic sibling supporters :)
Keegan and her partner moving through their team's tunnel.

BUT WAIT, there's more....
it will be in another post ;)
