Hmmmmmm

Out of storage for loading pictures... maybe time to end the blog since the girls are much more grown up than when I started and most people are on Facebook, anyway?  Something to consider.  Thoughts, anyone?

Birthday presents for Brooklin

We were lucky enough recently to have our little cousin/niece come for a visit right around her second birthday.

We got to got to her party, too, but couldn't wait that long to give her some birthday presents :).
A tiger!
And more ;)
Fun all around!

Keegan Quote

"Does my make-up look like obnoxious teen-ager make-up?"

Heh, heh, I'm not sure which answer she was hoping for!

Kelsey Quote

On why her little cousin doesn't respond the same way to the word "Mother" as she does "Mommy," "I don't think her brain is usually working like a thesaurus."

I just love this very true statement :).

Kelsey Quote

Keegan, "Kelsey, I need your help."

Kelsey, "With what, dear sister?"

I much prefer this to bickering ;).

Ambitious/Realistic Keegan Quote

"I was wondering if it would be possible to get a PhD in marine biology, wildlife biology, zoology, veterenarian, and be trained to be a zookeeper, play soccer, and be a cheerleader with a modest outfit all in four years."
Pause, "I don't think it's going to happen."

Kelsey Quote

"Mommy, Little Vols [cat] insulted me by socializing with the window instead of me."
Me "The window?"
"Yes, I was in my room and she sat in the window looking out instead of sitting with me."
One of the hazards of this gorgeous spring weather, I guess :).

*Note - This was written when we were actually having gorgoeous weather!

Titanic

In honor of  (that doesn't quite sound right :/ ) the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, and, I'll admit it, because of a great discount :), the girls and I recently visited the Titanic museum.

From the time of spotting the iceburg, the crew had only 37 seconds before impact.
A video game/simulator let us try to change course quickly enough to miss it.
We were unsuccessful.

Cameras weren't allowed inside, but we took a few pics outside.
The employees were great, really bringing the stories to life.
Also, a crew from USA Today was there, working on a story, so we got to follow them around a bit and listen to all of the cool things they were learning! (Watch for the story in April :).

The girls next to a replica anchor.  Titanic's center anchor weighed over 16 tons!!!!!!!
A side note, in case anyone is interested - Keegan was displeased I told her to wear something, "not ratty."  Haha.  According to her, her spring style is going to be "ratty t-shirts and sports shorts." I generally don't make an issue of clothes, but am not thrilled by this development :/.
We learned some interesting facts and stories and saw a life jacket (worn by John Jacob Astor's young wife) valued at over a million dollars.  Wow!
Such a tragedy, that also brought out so many acts of heroism.
Neat opportunity for us to learn :).

Keegy Quote

Keegan and Kelsey asked to cook pancakes the other morning and had a lot of fun mixing things up and taking orders.  Then Keegan came and told me they had formed a new company "K&K," whose motto was "Sometimes they cook, sometimes they clean, sometimes they just do everything." :)
Then she proceeded to explain to me that the cleaning part involved occasionally cleaning up something, but that that wouldn't happen very often, so it would always be a surprise if it did!
<3 her!
